cant you temprarily stick it on using the double sided sticky pads from halfords just to be safe? i magine with the congestion charge and cameras etc you wont get far with no plate on show before the police stop you.

Dashboard is also illegal - it needs to be clearly displayed on the front of the car. Thats why all cars have them there, oddly enough......

Mate, fact is you're heading for a tug. London coppers or not, you'll eventually get pulled and it'll be Ł60 and 3 points. That's the way it is, and driving an RS makes you twice a conspicuous.

ive done well over 15k miles in my works van with no front plate, and that includes over 4 trips to central london.

not had any probs whatso ever.

if they do stop you, say it fell off etc and they give your a 14 day ticked to get one fitted and get an mot stamp.

fit a small plate and get caught, you get a Ł30 fine.

why not just fix the fucker back on instead of bothering about how to dodge it? you could have done it in the time it took to do this thread.

The law is quite clear, it has to be displayed prominently on the front of the vehicle as upright as possible.
For anyone caught now 2 times(same car) with no plate or dodgy plate they remove the plate themselves, you them have to re register your car as reg is withdrawn, after you have collected the car from the pound after paying towing fee, as plod are not allowed to let you drive an unregistered car.

thats the law for dodgy plates,, you have just added on the " or not running a plate" on it for the scaremongering value mate

no plate is a 14 day wonder,, thats all it is as it could have fell off theres nothing else they will do you for, a 14 day wonder will need to be stamped by a MOT place though

btw ive yet to meet someone whos had there car plate taken off them for running dodgy plates,,,,, revoked the right to display a personal plate ive heard of though but not a general reg

ive had 2 14 day wonders before btw for no plate

The "number plate sticky pads" from Halfords work fine, ive used them to stick on a front plate before.
Followed the simple instructions and it never came off while i owned the car

my mate got stoped in his sapph on sunday for no front plate .he was told by the police that they would be taking his details and would be passing them on to the camera units and if any car with no plates and matching that description have been flashed on cameras they would be looking in to it...
wether that was bullshit or not who knows
