I have a 90 s2 running around 180/190 bhp, i fitted a bailey breather system about 2 months ago coz told they make the engine breath allot better, fitted front mount radtec cooler and rad, removed dump (gay) valve, turbo is standard as far as im aware with -31 so not a major project but have started to notice that all my intake system is full of oil and leaking from the throttle body on to the inlet manifold, when the dump valve was on it srayed oil everywhere! any ideas what this could be as its doing my head in cleaning this all the time!! cheers

 

sounds like turbo maybe....

 

Thats what i thought but the dosent smoke at all had a mate follow me to check no smoke on boost could be the seals getting weak i spose

 

get it looked at asap

 

Turbo or Rings

 

Will a compression test tell me if its rings as a test was done just before xmas by power engineering and they all seemed fine, so prob looking at a turbo?

 

Has this only happened since you fitted the breather?

 

I put all the parts on around xmas time and had the car set up at power engineering ian ball said the car was a credit to me and had been put together realy well which made me feel good. he said the only thing to do in the future was to get a cam and lifters sorted but wasnt urgent, so the car has been fine up untill 2 weeks ago when i noticed oil being sprayed out of the dump valve had this on other s2s but not this bad, so not sure if it has anything to do with the breather? ive been told you need to drain out the breather pot sometimes is this true as the bottom return pipe that gos to the sump should do this?
