Anybody know much about Evo 3's?
Always thought an Evo would be out the question for the time being but looking around and the 2, and 3's are eaily attainable.
Anybody know much about them? I know anything earlier than a 4 has crank walk issues and I know about servicing the diff every 15 minutes. Would one really be viable as a daily mode of transport? What goes wrong?

They're "ok" mate, you have to remember that they're now getting on a bit so won't be the pinnacle of reliability that Evos are claimed to be.
If you get a good one and look after it you should be ok. Sounds like you know about their biggest problem with the crank walk.

hear you go mate www.evo321.com im on there,i have an evo1,its kicking my arse with repairs atm but tbh im MEGA unlucky with cars.they are really nice motors and 300bhp is a nice easy number to get from them.dont worry about crank walk, its one of those myths that seem to be worried about massively, but doesnt really seem to affect many people.and before everyone says that the later ones dont suffer, they do,theyre just newer so havent done the miles, they are starting to suffer now thoug, and loads of cars get crankwalk, but it just doesnt get shouted about.
as for daily driver, yeah why not,im happy with mine as one.the mpg is good off boost.the performance is very nice, its a comfortable, useable car.parts are cheap enough (FAR less than cossies). but get on that site there, not as big as this place, but soooo much info and experience, with a shop integrated into the site for replacement standard or aftermarket parts.
