I've not looked at it in the flesh yet, but might go tomorrow...
Thanks in advance

I agree they are cracking cars but not that one
buy a proper one. 130 is better as they don't eat the box's like the 150's and still go really well. I'd be wary of: a. 5 owners - Up to 3 for a car this age and b. no mention of history. I'd want mostly vw with a couple of others at the end of the book. Also, I think the seller goes into too much detail about the pedal wear Vs mileage etc...I reckon she's been clocked to death! Call vw and give the reg and ask for a history check nationally. I wouldn't be surprised if they tell you they last saw it in 05 for is 130k service. I've bought an sold loads of these and this one has grannies hunt dirty mother written all over it.
*My opinion if its not I'll eat my hat on telly

"I HAVE JUST BOUGHT THIS GOLF GT TDI 2 WEEKS AGO TO TIDY UP AND USE FOR THE SUMMER.I HAD AN OVERDRAFT ON MY CARD AND NOW HAVE JUST LOST MY JOB BOLL**KS,SO IVE GOT TO SELL IT"
Quickly followed by this one
" I PAID 3,900.POUND CASH FOR THIS CAR 2 WEEKS AGO,I DONT MIND LOOSING SOME BUT I RATHER LEAVE IT ON THE DRIVE THAN SELL FOR NOTHING"
I would say he is full of shit about the Job loss..........

as no history hpi it if you win it when your with the car if you have internet on your phone go to the mot info database online and look up the details, it will show you the old mots from 2006 so might help on the mileage side of things
Thanks for the replies fellas, I spoke to him and he wants about 3.7k for it, a bit less if he doesnt change the 2 front tyres.
That one someone posted for 5k, is already sold.
5k is out of budget really, so if anyone can find me one for say 4k, I'll be more than happy to listen
Thanks again, oh and Tiff, I'll sort them round things out for you this weekend, and you dont need an SD card for the other one, I've got some

diesels do hold there money, but heres my view, there a hell of a lot more costly to repair and diesel costs more.
my wife has got a 01 1.8 gti turbo, craking cars quite nippy, on board pooter will easy show 30 odd mpg or 25 round town. plus you can get some good chatter with a cone filter etc or chip to 200 easily enough. diesels are great but its more of a market trend than better for you.
plus petrol turbos are cheaper so you get a newer car for your money

What?

I tend to say steer clear of the 150's as they tend to seize the camshafts. Not a cheap repair. I reckon the bodykit is there to draw your eyes from other problems too.
looks quite nice
Engine cover missing and badges on boot are wrong for a 150 although i know some dubs do vary with having the correct badges
writes like a mongo in the addy lol

if your really interested in the car get a proper check done on the car.atleast you will ave peice of mind and some gaurentee if the car is on the register.
and still worth goingto check the car out.just because they are hpi clear doesnt mean there all good
i've known loads of people with 150 pd's & none of them have ever had a cam problem, only thing i have seen in the last few years is friend of a friend had a cam replaced as it was worn, car had done 170k, can't complain at that
the 130 is often the better buy as there seems to be more about, cheaper, & when remapped the power difference is not massive, i've done a few turbos recently for 130's with the 150 compressor end to give them a bit more.
Deffo get a proper check done because.....
on scottishvag a guy has a 150 tdi for sale showing 88k he bought it then one the exact same turned up for sale with the full anni kit in the same colour so bought that and put up for sale the original one NOW
Another member knew the car and stated the millage is not correct and can prove it turns out the car has covered 158k not 88k
The guy selling is gutted as all his paperwork tally'd up that he got with the car
car is mint and the interior...leather looks like new still so very easy to be shafted

However, its whats available and close thats more important IMO, its not going to be a 'toy', just a works car thats economical.
Might have to pop to Stu at some point tho
Going to go view it at 3pm, as he is only a few miles away
