map sensor faulty??
Depends on how faulty it is, but if it´s DEAD then the engine will totally misfire both on and off boost.
If only little defect then small misfires here and there, hard to start sometimes etc etc.

it does not pick upboost and its running really lumpy at the moment. i might just but another sensor and try it. i seen them for sale on ebay and 30quid do uou know if them ones are just as good as originals?
I would only get a magnetti one tbh.... wouldnt trust copies . I had no end of trouble starting mine when it had stood for 3 month. in the end changed all the sensors so I knew they were pukka. it was the temp sensor ( blue one ) a th back of the head.. you can get sensor kits from Matt Lewis mate...

dont buy them there no good i thought that and got three and all of them made it run lean hense why i had to rebuild my engine had a map go down on mine and it made the 8 injectors fire all the time lots of fuel so i would say yes it could be your map cencer
Had this myself when i bought a brand New 3 Bar, when it packed up, only had it standing for a week, started the car, it started very lumpy, but evened out when leaving it to idle/warm up. Drove 200 yards down the road, come off throttle, engine died.
Started again, turnt round to take car back to house, just got it back the 200 yards and died again, then wouldnt start after that (as if it wasnt getting any fuel).
Took it to my Tuner, it fired up, but gave classic Overfuelling symtoms.
C/O kept dropping off, causing the car to run lean.

Remove the cover of the glove connector to your p8box but leave it connected.turn the ign on and messure whit a volt tool. One end on Pin nr 15 and put the other one to a ground spot.If u have a working 3 bar u should get about 1,53v.Done.
Thanks Glen, that sounds similar to a problem i'm having but car sems to run ok when on boost. It's running rich low in the revs and lean high up.
Lars, i'll give that a try cheers although i have l8 ecu, is that the same?
