The hinge has bust on my laptop. I've taken the plastic apart and the metals snapped inside Basically can it be fixed or is it toast? its about 6 years old and getting s-l-o-w, seems to get hot very quickly and is constantly chucking the message up about increasing the virtual memory. Recently had the hard drive replaced so don't want to keep throwing money at it if its way passed its best. Its a Toshiba Satellite A40 it helps anyone.

 

The hinges are available if you google it from most laptop websites. You can also get them off E-Bay.

Around Ł15, wouldn't pay anymore for them.

 

Didn't occur to me that you would be able to get them, they looked like a sealed unit so to speak.
