No - different engine due to the technical updates and other little design features.

Probably not - later engines used newer versions of the Garrett VNT turno, earier engines IIRC used tradional wastegated turbochargers - no harm in comparing them to see if they are the same, BMW are a bit strange sometimes in what parts they use.
