Is there any online engine number decode for YB cossie lumps that tells you year of manufacture???

The way my car is registered, my emissions on MOT are based on engine age. Ive got engine build reciepts going back to early 1992 and they have been used in the past to satisfy the MOT man to do the non cat emissions test.

With things tightening up with IVA etc, i want to be able to prove it with the engine number confirming it was built pre 31st july 1992.

So has anyone got tables that will enable me to decode YB engine number???

Also does anyone have a decode for DVLA issued VIN numbers???

 

Has nobody here got a clue on this??

 

I dont think you can just from the engine number unless you are cosworth !!

If you know the VIN number of the original vehicle then yes...LOL

my car aint an escort so that decode doesnt work as it doesnt have a seperate engine number bit.

 

what bout the bottom link?and that top one is for all cossies ,but yer u r right not much good if ya aint got the chassis number

 

my chassis number is a DVLA issued one so the ford decode dont work and its a puma so chassis age is newer than engine.

 

Anyone got a pic of where the cosworth engine number is in the thermostat area??? All i can see in the normal place below exhaust manifold at rear is with an inspection mirror letters MJ and some numbers i cant make out. If i can find the cosworth engine number they can tell me exactly
