They would be great cars to own and drive, IF the standard auto gearbox wasn't a total load of crap.

bang for buck it's the cheapest way to get 200 odd brake into a sierra

plus the added advantage that you can buy the car for peanuts and flog the bits off and still make a profit

or have some nice comfy chairs in the living room

Default edis 6 from 2.5 mondeo into 24v cos

hey guys i`ve been looking for sum info on this for hours now
my bruv has a 2.5 mondeo breaking and this guy calls him asking for an edis 6 module, i guess this is mounted to the driver side bulkhead and is to doing with the cps and so on.. anyway this guy wants this unit to put in his capri that has a 24v granny conversion. Does anyone have any diagrams of both looms because i think the amount of pins in the plug won`t possibly make it work.. How do i identify this edis 6 module to make sure its the rite one?

Cheeky twat - a Scorpio 24v IS a propper Cosworth - it's just different in style from the Sierras/Escorts

the edis 6 module has the words "edis 6" on the side of it

differentiated from the edis 4 module because they have "edis 4" on the side of them

the modules are the same otherwise as the 6 has 3 green wires to fire 3 packs of twins and the 4 only has 2 green wires to fire 2 packs of twins

hope that helps

F**k - just because it hasn't got a £9 chrome badge on the back doesn't mean it's not a Cosworth <bangs head>

Log book for my Scorpio says "Scorpio Ultima 24v Cosworth".

it's got an engine in it that bears the words cosworth on the inlet manifold so it's got a cosworth engine in it

just because it's not a yb doesn't mean it's not posh enough for the rs fraternity to be all snooty with it

I would agree it's not an RS though.

Nope - the Granadas had Cosworth badges but they were dropped from the Scorpios to try to bring the insurance costs down (the owners of Sierra's and Escorts were being careless twats by leaving them in dodgy places and letting people nick them). The Scorpio Cosworths still had all the other Cosworth additions though - bigger brakes, traction control (in place of an LSD), stiffer and lower suspension etc.

The whole "it's not a Cosworth" as dojj points out is just snootiness.

a yb powered car will always be more attratcive to tealeaves than an old grandad mobile with a slushmatic and heafty lashings of pomp and circumstance

2 totaly different cars for 2 totaly different ends of the spectrum
