My van sills are beginning to look a bit tatty, stone chips, light rust etc.

I'm going to strip them right down, slap on rust killer and repaint, only thing is what do I use?

Can't use the old underseal 'cause it don't "go off" and it will end up all over me trousers.

Not sure if I should paint them white or black, what are peoples' opinions?
