my rs has just blown up today and would like some advice on where to take it for a full rebuild and some prices aswell please people

 

depends what you want,how much you have to spend ect.give us some rough ideas to work with lol

Is it just me or is everyone's RS's blowing up tis week? Its all Im reading about lol

just died goin down the road wont start now but wen it did stART THERE WAS A BIT OF RATTLUNG... WEN THE ENGINE DIED IT HAD OVERHEATED ASWELL....... SEEMS LIKE LACK OF COMPRESION DUE TO IT NOT STARTIN AND THE RINGS COULD BE THE RATTLING..... COULD IT BE HEAD GASKET???? but then how do u explain the rattling.... i am looking for prices on a full engine rebuild..... crank shells head pistons and cam???

 

sounds like crank rattle, Pistions could have a hole init. The car would still run with the rings, well all deppends what damage was done.

Did when it went the car front end shake like a basted? if so then your clutch may have gone aswell which is stoping it from starting, And if its LSD like mine was huge huge bill.

rebuild can cost from 1k - 5k all deppends on what your ready to spend, if its pistions and its done it on comprestion your vauvles maybe fucked, there pritty easy todo, while your there tho getting a rebuild you may wanna thinking about some uprated parts, all deppends on what you really wanna do, And again price is a matter of the damage,

i didnt bother with mine i knew i blow the box so it was under alot of strain so i binned the engine and brought a new one, got it built to a good spec fordged up and moddifed, so i was happy, got a T34hybird and job a good un, if u know mates that can fit you an engine go for it as thats the most of the cost if your ganna buy a second hand engine,

Sevs.co.uk Visit that website, ring them and tell them what you want, my standard qoute for a new engine and fitting was 1,200 or for a ZVH 2.1 was 1,800.

they built me an engine and i got a mate to fit it

 

i no it aint the clutch that has gone because i started it up aftawards and drove it of the road didnt drive very well but clutch was fine

 

mine blew up tooo

 

Mines gettin' there too rings slowly eating away , need to get a support group goin
