Default No more Hummers! (or Saabs).

Wow, what do we make of this? According to this GM is cutting off a load of it's production. Bye bye to Saturn (not sold here?), Saab, Pontiac ( <-Genuine tears), Hummer ().

Well, the brands could survive, if bought out by someone. Swedish government buy Saab? Maybe the Chinese might buy a few brands to expand their empire?

http://blogs.moneycentral.msn.com/sm...ab-hummer.aspx

And this is after asking for MORE bailout money.

Is this where you get facts from? Its not certain that is going to happen yet

Though tbh i hate the fact these companies ask for bailouts, if any govt helps fund them. Then they take a share or even a loan that must be paid back with interest.

you obviously didn't read the article. is it a duff source?

says GM
OMFG it's a conspiracy!!!!!

Are you going to join in the discussion, on how maybe it might affect our favourite brand too, or continue to take the piss every time I post, because a few years ago, I had a small interest in a major event?

what happens to the cars once they stop making them?
will they go the way of rover with values dropping through the floor and insurance companies writing them off when you get a wing mirror knocked off?

No i just read same type of article in other sources and said that this was on the table as options and not yet set in stone Imo scare mongering in some respect, as kinda above GM would love for Swedish Govt. to buy Saab to keep their workers in employment etc. And take a headache from GM. But good on Swedish govt for not playing these games.

Is though times for car makers atm. And tbh would anyone miss the above brands if they did go? Not really......

Pontiac was very cool back in the hey day, but omg they are shocking now imo.

Yeah seen they was taken the Astra over.

Just looking at new Saabs now, and no wonder they are selling very well. Not exactley cheap Plus you hardly see any nowadays. Not surprising at the price, most people would go for German counterpart,

The US army still mostly uses the early hummer not the commercial ones so theyd just buy out the plant if it came to it and ditch the on road side of hummer.

As long as ford survive, vauxhall can burn

didn't the humvee start off as a military vehicle anyway?
arnie "governator" schwarzenegger made it a "car" so the original military thing would still be going ahead anyway

but with the "O" man wanting to end the bush's "war on trrrrrrrrr", what's going to happen to them vehicles?

can't they just blow them up in tf3?
