think im going to do my own livery, but not 100% yet.. i bought the car in fife but it was sold from ireland 7ish years ago and hasnt been touched since, which i really cant understand!!
collins motorsport ?? collins as in collins congleton or collins cars pontarddulais, both built sierra cosworths, phil collins was a expert sierra cosworth driver as well as a rally car builder, he drove in the securicor sierra cosworth challenge.
afaik phil collins was from hereford but his buisness collins cars was building rally cars from ponty and making seats, he hired them out to anyone who had the money,i know some drivers who hired his cars. there is a reason why i asked if frank meagher owned this car.
in 99 frank meagher died testing a 3dr cosworth, he had the car for sale. both frank and mickey were car dealers from southern ireland and they both had 3dr sierras the 3dr that frank drove had duckhams and lombard sponsorship it was looked after by Smith Auto Developments S-A-D. if you look at the reg on the video i posted of Mickey the car is on southern irish plates starting 90, Franks 1995 irish tarmac championship winning escort was a 1990 southern irish reg too. is the ni reg on the 3dr now a 1990 registered car or a 87?.
both were drivers i loved to watch RIP

im pretty sure mickey owned the car so it maybe isnt the one that frank died in, but you will know better than me. although! i know it was in a bad crash around 8 yrs ago and got reshelled so maybe it is?
I know some southern irish drivers muck about with the plates on the cars because they don't want to pay tax on them,if you got hold of anthony nestor you would get the crack about the sierra. looking again at the video link i posted the car has a fuel cap in the rear qtr panel. the only 3dr's i saw like that were early works cars. franks sierra 3dr was early on a d***svw car then it went onto a 1990 si plate.
i have a really good video with some of the drivers who made the sierra 3dr a force in british rallying, not one has anti lag but the 3dr cos made a noise unique to itself.

it also says on the reg doc " previously registered and/or used outside the uk to 1st registraton in NI declared manufactured '87. so presume that means it was in southern ireland before
yes.
you do know phil collins is still rallying ?? he would also know the crack about the car.
listen and watch this video, you will here 3dr cosworths screaming on tarmac and your man phil collins is flying in a 3dr.mark lovell, jimmy mcrae they all drove them hard.

It looks to have been transfered into a base model 3dr shell at some point in its past if its the same car being discussed, as the one in the first set of pics is not a cosworth shell.
front tow eye is the obvious pointer, but also the non abs servo hole in the bulkhead
If you take a look at the door latches on the A pillar they will be the old style single point ones, where as the cosworth shell uses the anti burst latch held on with two screws
No big deal anyway if its a rally car as they are essentially the same shell apart from a few odds and ends
