The first Far Cry, IMO, was ruined with the 'monsters', but was still brilliant and is one of the few games I've actually completed. This one is completely non-monsterific, which I think adds to the realism. I'm only like 1% into the game, but I love it!

The level of detail is brilliant - pick up a gun in GTA and what's the chances it will jam? None. In Far Cry 2, you can pick up guns which have a chance of failing, just when you need them, further adding to the realism.

I bought this on recommendation from my work mate - and it's brilliant! If you played the original Far Cry, buy this one to see how much better it is. If you didn't, try this anyway.

 

I loved the original Far Cry too, I completed it on Realistic which is seriously hard.
I'm definatley going to buy Far Cry 2, in fact I might just go and pop down to PC World right now.

Far Cry 2 is totally different from the first one it's a bit more of a role play style game than an action shooter like the first one.
Makes the game play a lot slower..... eg:
go here collect this..... go there speak to so and so..... he gives you this....... which you must take to her....... she'll give you a blah blah blah.....etc.. etc..

So people really like it, I find it a bit slow.
Best game of last couple of years IMO was Crysis and Crysis Warhead!
