Common problem. Get your hacksaw out.
Get new captive nuts when you put the tank back on - 3 required at about a quid each (part number 6767592) - and stainless M8 bolts.

I just air chisled my one off that stuck, managed to wiggle the other two out by backwards forwards loads of wd40.
I'd get a new strap as well, plus a new sender gasket, there are two sizes, I didn't know which was which so just got both, one is about 50p the other one about £3.
Don't forget to stick the two pads on that stop the tank rattling on the chassis that is butts up to.
