civic type r or audi s3
was lookin on piston heads earlier and noticed u can pick both cars up for around 6k. which 1 is the better of the 2.?
i love the way the audis look and they seem to be easy to get a bit more power out of them but are they much quicker than civics? had a eg civic years ago and thrashed it everywhere and it never let me down once. then got a cozzy and it all went downhill.

thats random i had an a3 turbo running 190bhp and it couldn't touch my mates CTR, i now have a CTR which is alot better in everyway
depends what you want from the car in standard form the CTR is quicker, but obviously its alot cheaper to tune the s3 and the s3 is alot more luxury then the civic
Deffo recomend a test drive in both, would imagine they deliver the power very differently and drive and feel miles apart, not to put one above the other, just depends what you like.
The upside is the CTR is very reliable and would imagine you get a new car for the money.

You shouldn't have struggled at all mate. A genuine 190bhp in a car lighter than my A4 you should have been all over him. Maybe the 190bhp you had wasn't as genuine as it should have been.

to the guy deciding got a little video of me vs my mates s3 both standard in a line can pm you if you like just so you get the idea
i drove a CTR a while ago, after all the hype i was expecting ALOT.
from an engineering aspect is quite good how it has power right the way through until 9krpm.
but from a drivers view i wasn't that impressed, quick yes, fast no.
that said a standard s3 will never set the world alight either.
i reckon you should drive both on the basis they're two very well built cars !

I think to much hype is put on the kick from the v-tec, I for one was certainly expecting some made kick in the pants, but that wasn't really the case.
Compared to a turbo coming on boost, the v-tec is mild. That said, it is a great reving little bit of kit.
I did hear that the engine in previous cars, the engine was less refined off cam so the kick was more noticable when it came, not sure how true this is.
As I say, really best to drive both to see which one floats your boat.
