what mods need to do to eat wrx on track..

 

Obvious track prep aside I'd say:

full bushing kit
uprated springs (the choices here are vast)
race seat and steering wheel for control.
car needs a diet
widest, best rubber you can afford


Ok that gets you in the turns with a stock scooby. Get to the turn first and leave it first.

330 brake kit. Stainless hoses all around. New fluid.
Get the motor above 330bhp. Stage I or II sure.

Spend your remaining budget one some driving theory or outright lessons. Make sure the #1 factor (you) is upgraded. Left foot that bugger in to the turns and power out while the scooby runs scared.

I assume the above means a relatively stock WRX since you can't do much to them before you gotta bin that hideous crankshaft.

 

To eat a WRX on track you need to go n buy a STI Type RA and bin the Saff Cossie. for a start it`ll be cheaper to buy than the saff.end of

 

so its pointless to mod my saff.. will be eaten anyway.. right?

 

The Sapph has crappy rear suspension compared to most modern sports saloons. You can get it to handle well with a modified rear beam, geometry changes, bushes, shocks and springs, damper and other adjustments. You are starting with a base car that has limitations but with enough work you can make it handle well. It has the capability for very easy power though and this makes up for its other failings.

You're in Singapore and you have a Sapphire Cosworth? How did that happen? You must have the only one there.

i am just wondering if its worth all the money put in to mod my saff... and if i still can't beat them i might as well join them...

 

The best thing to do is not worry how it competes against other cars and enjoy it for what it is. As said above,it will not compete with newer machinery without a lot of money spent on it. Why join them when you have a very rare car in your country,just take it to the best road/track set up (stage 3) and enjoy it
