Angry is NOT the word!!
Just got my 12 string out to change the strings as I have a gig later, and it needs doing as I havent changed them in AGES, and its down to 9
Slackened off the strings, then snipped the 2 (low E) strings, (in a mega rush to get it done in time, my own fault for rushing)
Went to pull the bridge pins out for both the strings and they both snapped
OH FFS
So now I have a 7 string guitar, with no low E! Just had a look and I have no spare bridge pins,
And 45 minutes to sort it... which aint gonna happen pmsl.
Gonna get a set of brass or bone slotless ones next to stop this happening again, so fookin frustrated its unreal

[/rant]
Anyone ever gone over to brass/bone? Or FWI ones? (Fossilised Walrus Ivory)
fancy a set of these, brass with black mother of pearl inlays

Steve.

next time you put them in use a bit of talc on them, will stop the moisture in the rose wood from gripping on to them so hard but will be enuf to keep the strings in.
i do this on all the acoustics i re-string. works a treat. however i would concider not using the brass ones as it may change the sound of your guitar too much, the transmition qualitys and the resonant frequencys will be totally different. up to you i guess.

Im not sure about the brass ones, Ive heard good things, I'll see if I can play a brass or bone pinned one and make my mind up, nigh on Ł60 for a set of 12 as pictured in my 1st post!
Other than that, the gig went well, borrowed a mates 6 string. So impressed with how it plays, and its a Ł100 jobbie!
