i do this on all the acoustics i re-string. works a treat. however i would concider not using the brass ones as it may change the sound of your guitar too much, the transmition qualitys and the resonant frequencys will be totally different. up to you i guess.

Im not sure about the brass ones, Ive heard good things, I'll see if I can play a brass or bone pinned one and make my mind up, nigh on £60 for a set of 12 as pictured in my 1st post!
Other than that, the gig went well, borrowed a mates 6 string. So impressed with how it plays, and its a £100 jobbie!
