hello me and my partner are thinking of visiting for a weekend. we are both early 20's. What are the main things to do there apart from shopping is there anything special/romatic thats worth checking out. cheers

 

In short no, nothing great there.

Oxford street is nice at night and a few nice places to eat, not a great night life, but top end (Bedford place) is where I prefer, there is oceania club which you might like, but it's not my thing anymore.

 

The Southampton people will kill me for this but I'd say just drive down to Southsea near Portsmouth. Very nice to walk along the seaside there. Probably a bit cold now though...

ok thanks guys, i don;t expect we have much time anyway we're only staying a night, was already planning on a meal out at night, probably a lie in the next day so its only really one day which i suppose we could fill with shopping and some lunch. I think go back to my other plan that was london, thanks

 

in short shopping is ok, not great dispite what people say, shopping elsewhere is much much better, its a bit of a nothing place really, nothing visually worth seeing, not much culture and feck all night life.
