My frs-a write off

After only 4 months of owning my rs ive gone and wrote her off-devastated would be an understatement..
Anyway i need to know how it works with insurance with these as i know the book price in horrific and horrendous-around 5-6k.
Mine was a minter,30k,ffsh etc will the insurance company bear this in mind? And how do they work it-will it go on "market value" or "book price"
If any1 has been in a similar situation with there rs or know of any1 that has- it would be massively appreciated if ya could let me know..
Thanks
Joe

To be honest, unless youve got an agreed valuation, you'll only get the book price plus a bit.

Ive tried a few- there all around this price-

www.parkers.co.uk
www.glassguide.co.uk - £3.50 for this one.
Thanks for the help lads. Im hoping it shouldnt take to long as its fairly straight forward- I paid 11k for this car tho and i would be happy with 9-10k payout- i think this sounds fair if you look at the market......

How lows-low? It makes sense buying the car back- but what would you say its worth as the front has a nasty V in it The n/s/f wheel is practically off. just a guess but maybe buy back 1k- sell 3k?
wait till they asess it mate, you'd be suprised what is repairable....
I got a really low offer on a rear end shunt (landrover in back of me) and I just sent the 3 highest autotrader listings for the same car and got £100 lower than the lowest of the 3, with no agreed value or anything on my car.
However you're claiming on your own insurance as 1 car incident so pushing for a high payout will push up your premiums, especially if your into fast fords.
Cheers

)ps, i have a nice FRS for sale
Really depends on the level of damage tbh & whether the car will be classed as cat d or worse c & frankly based on high value (and more importantly availablity) of some FRS parts, especially the body panels, a lot of insurers wont want to repair the car even if you insist tbh
A lot of FRS parts are now starting to go discon/no longer available from Ford & some are on very long back orders which may not even be fulfilled which is what insurer will consider dependent on level of damage
TBH with the market value on the FRS dropping you'd be better going for a payout but remember as with anything if you believe they are not offering a reasonable amount i.e £5k when car in current climate should be £9k/£10k value then its a case of argueing with them & in the end you will get to a compromise
With regards to buying the car back & breaking it this is really only worth doing if you have the space, time, knowledge & tools to do it right & then spend a large amount of your time listing all the items on ebay
Also worth considering that dependent on level of damage, how much is actually salvedgable undamaged for resale @ a reasonable price
