Default GTI wheels on van???

Hi all,
A friend has offered me his Escort Gti 5 spokes with 195x50x15's really cheap.
I would love to fit them to my '98 Escort van but am worried they may not fit. Also I'm concerned that they will screw up my speedo.
Anyone fitted these to a van and had any problems?
Cheers.

what van is it mate?
and whate size are the wheels.

a 175/70/13 has the same rolling diameter as a 195/50/15 for example, if they're the 15" versions that i'm presuming then you'll be ok.

Cheers guys.
The wheels are going so cheap that I would be daft to miss the chance.
Should look so much better than my rusty steel wheels.

I had them on my mk6 escort van, you have to put longer studs and 10mm spacers on the rears otherwise they scrub on the inside, but other than that they looked great and my speedo was bob on too

my wife's still got the standard 14" alloys on her '98 Escort and the speedo is about 4mph out anyway according to satnav, so bigger wheels might actually correct it.

As an update, I got the wheels today and they fit. Can't get me finger between the tyre and inner rear wheel arch, but they go on with no rubbing. Will get 5mm spacers though just to make sure.

to change the studs you take the rear hubs off and tap the studs out, then tap the new longer ones in, its a pretty easy job

I used 10mm spacers on mine
