Manifolds are primaraly used to alter the charactaristics of how a car produces its power - theres a lot more to it that just flow and restrictions.
The best example I've seen of a successful design and shape was AVA's Tubular manifold for the CVH. Which I initially had for my 1600cvh, it shifted the peak power upto 7200rpm and held onto its power, as in the rolling road chart was level all the way to 7800rpm, the limiter cutting in at over 8000rpm. I've yet to see that replicated!
Of course a manifold in itself is only part of the equasion, engine build & spec along with mapping are also factors to be considered.

Lucky man, have a great time! Where are you off to?
The AVA ones arent made any more(they are so labour intensive to make) they are very limited in number and fetch good money IF they become available. The shape of and length of the headers is the main difference.
on a poorly designed one i agree, with proper exhaust and inlet and a matched spec u can see good gains by fittin, andy and wul young both seen good gains usin ava's manifold, not just more power but where peak power was produced and the ability to keep that power at high revs
andys was near as dam same spec as mine, mine made peak power at 6krpm andys made it at 7200rpm and held it till 7800rpm,doesnt seem to shabby to me

The standard one is more than fine for almost every application!
Moving to stainless looks very nice but also induces the risk of cracking!
On a turbocharged car equal length headers or primeries as some like to call them are not the bee all and end all! In my opinion. Although at 530bhp (on a zetec) I paid the price through heat transfer on a VERY short number 4, transfering heat into the head and cooking the headgasket.
Equal length are the way to go if you can but I am convinced that its not that important up to say 400bhp. That is not including manifolds that are just shit anyway firing into the collector at stupid restrictive angles.
With the very best of respect it sounds like you are looking to spend for the sake of it (guilty of this myself at times). You would be far better looking else where for the best band for your buck!
