i know this sounds daft but i have seen it done, my escork mk4 has mint bodywork but is getting a but crusty underneath !
i want to weld and paint it all underneath but keep the bodwork mint!
I was just wondering the easiest was to tip it on its side without damaging anything ?
Is it impossible if not how do you do it ?

If you remove the front and rear screens you can use a broomstick through the centre of the car and some large axle stands at either end and just swivel it. That works really well. If you struggle to find a long enough broomstick, you can put two together using gaffa tape.

Only problem with turning the car on its side is that it needs to be devoid of ANY fluids before you start. Fuel tank, gearbox, engine, washer bottles, all need to be removed or else it WILL get messy and things WILL break.
If you are not doing a full-on resto, raising it as high as possible is the best option.
