Default xr2i's... (few questions)

sold my car last week and now looking at getting back into the ford scene, most people on here my know ive had quite a few escort mk4s, so fancy trying out the mk3 fiesta..

the 1.6cvh most likely will do me for the time being but overall i want to go turbo power, with the xr2i being injection will the rs turbo engine literally (as they say) 'drop in'..

whats the insurance group on the xr2i's?

XR2i stands out a lot more, was a big crime target years ago and it puts out a good few BHP less than the 1.6 EFi CVH too...

Just buy an RST to start with, look far better, will have been looked after better and insurance will be the same if not less than a messed about with xr2i. Save all the hassle as well building it, pointless converting a car when you can go out and buy a better one that Ford did for you!

How old are ya?

Ł2k to insure and ERST? Wouldn't bother myself. Insurance is a rip off at the end of the day but I couldn't see myself ripped off that much.

If you do get one just make sure its got some top security on it. My Toad Ai606 saved mine the only time in 7 years of ownership that anyone tried to nick it and if I hadn't have turned off the proximity sensor bleeper alarm cos it was annoying the hell out of us they probably wouldn't have even tried in the first place.

You'd get a z-s for Ł2k if you look hard, cheap to insure and ten times better than a 2i if its in good order
