Question replacing oe intercooler for rs500type

Hi, just been busy replacing the old radiator from this:

old smiley. This happend last year when headgasket went. To this new oe one.
However, it seems the radiator had 2 mounting places on top which connect to the intercooler. Now this one is been replaced for a rs500 type. Now the radiator hangs only on the 2 mountingbolts with the rubber grommets, and feels a bit wobbly.
Can it be left like that? Or should additional mounting places be fixed?
(As was before with a few alu extension thingys)

I had the same problem when I put on a new alloy rad and RS500 type intercooler.
As you say the rad wobbles, I was not happy so I cut a piece of spare pipe as a wedge between the top of the rad and intercooler where they touch, then put a strong long tie wrap(well ok I nicked a police speed cuff!!, basically a tie wrap extra long/strong) put this around the top inlet of rad pipe then around the rear of the headlight surround rear, then just pulled to nip it up to stop rocking motion, works perfectly and forget it's there as hardly noticeable.

What i use is sticky back draft excluder , ( spelling )the sponge stuff , Stick it to the tanks on either side of the rad and this then sits tight to the cooler ( between the cooler end tanks and the rad end tanks )

Job done

Paul, Do you find the draught exluder stuff still sticks after being hot and that with the engine running, it still stays sticky ok ?, would look a bit heater than my tie wrap, how thick is the stuff you use ?
