Default mk3 cabriolet 4x4 cosworth

hello, some off you may off seen me on some forums but im here now aswell!!

anyway im building a 4x4 mk3 cabriolet cossie. i know alot of people have done tintip cossies but i dont think theres many cabriolet ones around.

all work im doing by myself, im doing it buy using the gearbox tunnel from a sierra and the rear floor out of the sierra n the strut tops. i will make me own bulkhead then just simply bolt sierra running gear on. because it a cabriolet and has no roof it will need more strengthening so it will have a full rollcage im building put in, but will not come up to half way up the doors, the cosworth engine im buying has 380bhp so it needs to be strong to put up with the power.

it will have a warrior wide arch kit on picking that up after xmas.
17" compomotive mos
full respray in diamond white with diagonal strips up the side

heres a pic of how the car used to look, was running a rs16i engine but with a better ported head and race cam.

and this is what it looks like at the moment, im just looking for a cheap pinto engined sierra, front slam panel n 2 inner wings

this is being built for track use and fun. it will be road legal, but is mainly being built to thrash, want it in a few mags and put it all the shows etc. apart from that i just want a car that will almost go round corners as good as an evo8

any help welcome, especially interested in talking to wenny! as ive seen a few pics of his and think it looks the nuts

oh and i also own this:

1.3 ghia 50k miles from new 100% original, never welded, mint apart from little bit of rust on drivers side front n rear door

no it isnt for sale, im known round my way as the mk3 escort kid, cant let that reputation slip lol

thought about it without the body kit but, just wanted a car thats like a matchbox car where all the kids go wow i want one of them! something quite mad really! my next project will be a sleeper sticking to mk3 but going to do something totally different *cough*skyline running gear*cough*
the wider archs do have there advantages e.g i can sit it on wider wheels plus, the warrior kit has the 2 bits that stick out infront of the doors, there being chopped off, that way the kit will be virtually the same as the wide archs on g6/g3's
like i said the cars mainly being built for the track not to look pretty.

thanks for the link anyway mate!

As i said on EVO, good luck. You have a monster task ahead of you, you really do fella. That cabby looks like it has quite a bit of rust as well. But hats off to you if you pull it off

lol its you again!! and TBH i dont think its that bad, it is 25 years old and it was sitting in a field for 3 years before i bought it lol all it needs is new inner wings and slam panel, the rear archs are being cut and rolled anyway so rust dont bother me lol once all the weldings done im guna get the whole shell waxoiled
