dump valves?
looking to put one on my rs turbo, whats the best to go for? recirc?
what sorta sounds does a recirculated one make? what about single and double piston etc? not too clued on them, thinking of leaving it off but has been suggested to get one?
any help is appreciated

If you do get one, it must be a twin piston or you'll create a massive air leak, and a recirculating one doesnt make any sound (i think) because it 'dumps' the pressure back into the intake, instead of to atmosphere.

A friend took his dump valve off and it chattered, even with the air flow meter. It was fairly loud but not as loud as a cossy. I tryed it on mine by mine wouldnt chatter. It must be to do with how much boost i was running or somthing. I would rather have the chatter any day !
double piston, otherwise your car wont start due to the extra air being drawn in.
Bailey seems to be the main choice and seems to last the longest.

Oh yes it will!
My Mfi S2 chatters even with a dump valve fitted! But 10x more so without one! If i let off just as the turbo spools up to peak boost (17psi) it will chatter.
Yes it is to do with how much boost you are running, as it's the sound of the pressure building up back to the blades on the compressor wheel and trying to stop it rotating. This is why people say dump valves are good on high boost cars because it stops the pressure build up reaching the compressor wheel and slowing it down..... in theory reducing lag.

i agree
mine seems tobe more responsive with no dump valve even let my mate drive the car for a while with it on then with out telling him removed it one day and let him back in the seat and he even agreed the car responded better and the chatter it makes is quite inpressive and i mean you hear it not a faint flutter in the back ground all on a mfi lump at only 12 psi but remember all engines run different
