is there a better type of rocker cover half moon seal available? I have tried the thin orange ones twice & the oil keeps leaking down the front of the head even with silicone or instant gasket applied. really need to get this problem sorted once & for all. Cheers

positive, i have cleaned the area & can see the oil weeping through between the rocker cover & the bearing carrier. its completely dry around the bearing & carrier
when i had my rocker cover changed, i had new orange ones fitted and i had the same prob. plus there is a slight spray of oil (only a small amount) going over the air intake samco hose to the turbo

same here, got oil spraying around the whole engine bay & underneath right back to the petrol tank. its ruined a brand new timing belt, least its not the sump or crank oil seal as i originally thought

Yeh use the orange rubber seals and some loctite 5910 or 5900. Tabetha told me to use this stuff years ago and its great. Well worth the slightly expensive price tag.

not spraying as such, as its running down the front of the engine & being flicked around the engine bay by the cam belt & pullies. when driving the airflow underneath the car is carrying the drops along the underside resulting in a very thin film of oil along the floorpan, gearbox, rear axle & tank. just a real pain. have stripped out the cam bearnigs tonight & found a small nick in one of the o rings. will replace this, seal the whole show up & replace the rocker gasket & half moons and hopefully that will sort it. just one of those jobs that takes a bit of time to sort out
