Default Cars you just should'nt have owned

Just stumbled across this pic. lol
I was 20 and just wanted a cossie soo bad, this one came up cheap and as a local car i thought it would be a good purchase.
The seller was a mechanic so I also thought it would be in good working order.

How wrong you can be when your young and nieve with 3k burning a whole in your pocket.

my series1 what a pile of shit, same again was 18 and had the money and wanted 1 ended up buying a shed that looked nice. O and my 3 door that turned out to be a 1984 shell wich was then reshelled using a genuine cssie shell and the old numbers put into it (or so i was told after i had sold it).

shagged gearbox and diff
buckeled cracked wheels with unsafe ilegal tyres
paint job was terrible and not in door shuts or under the bonnet(bumpers cable tied on)
rooted leather
warped brakes with one sized caliper

deffo the sierra I have in my unit now, I guy at work sold me it last week, He had owned it from 3 months old and told me it was in good condition(I had never seen it), when he delivered it the day the mot run out I found myself with a very very tired looking 170k mile sierra 1.8lx,
fixed the oil leak (the oil pressure switch) and removed the tea tray that was tied underneath to stop the oil dripping on his drive!!!pmsl
anyway it passed it's mot yesterday with a couple of advisories (which I will fix) then it will be up for sale for 150 quid to get shot!!!
must be a cheap car for someone with 12 months ticket on it lol
strangely when I drove it to the mot station it actually drives ok how I don't know!!!!

steve

Nearly bought a Mini with the Metro turbo engine...

Spoke to the guy (a Brunel graduate and then FORD MECHANIC, what a fuckin joke) he told me the shell was spotless, it started on the button and boosted fine blah blah.

Get there he was trying to spray wd40 on the alternator belt to keep it quiet, since tightening it didn't cross his pigshit mind. Wires were literally glowing round the fusebox they were all totally the wrong ratings. It was rotten in the boot, had a cheap dtm kit on there that was trashed on the NSF which he forgot to mention before I'd set off 2 hours earlier

Went for a drive severly pissed off, only to see him messing with the choke and bleed valve constantly just to keep it running let alone boosting. It was a total shitbox and the one bit he actually seemed proud of the 'Cossie Intercooler' was just a knackered Fiesta Turbo one a scrappy had done well to get a tenner for. Useless little tosser he was

lol.. I've had way too many shitters, including a mini-based fishpond that was dragged out of a hedge... but I digress...
The one car I really regret buying was a Fiesta mk2 1.4s.

I painted myself into a corner by catching a train to southampton then a taxi to some farm in the middle of nowhere.
I almost had to buy it just so I could get home.
Drove home with no tax, test, etc..etc.. and thick black smoke billowing out the pipe all the way home.

A truck I shouldn't have owned. Only reasone why I bought it cause I was towing all sorts of stuff with my dads 1ton truck so I decided it was time to get my own heavy hauler.

Guess what as soon as I bought it I never pulled a thing with it. It was nice had dual leather power bucket seats, both seat where heated, Climate control, LOTS of room. It was loaded like a Benz.

1.8 derv this story is 100% true and if you dont believe me i'll take a photo of 2/3 boxes outside in my garden lol.

after 2 weeks of buying the van the diff went noisy and i lost fifth gear,
Fitted a second hand box from scrappy that had lost 5th gear (but didnt know til i fitted it,
Took that box back out got my money back. Bought a 2nd box from ebay that then worked for 3 months then diff went noisy lost 5th gear. Bought 1 more box from wales 2nd hand, that lasted 5 hours noisy diff 5th gear. I decided to drive it using 4 gears.
Drove it for a couple of months then the cambelt snapped. Lol.

For me it was a cossie but not the cars fault but mine, i knew fook all about cars really and loved the sapph, (went out in my mates dads when i was 10/11 it was a brand new sapph with 4 miles on the clock, he was a director at ford)

So always wanted one

Bought one of PJ Motorsport for a good price in the 90s £2.5K i think as no one wanted them, cost me £2K to insure it.
The car was grat but i didnt know about serviceing e.t.c, it was standard and it done 70K with me at the wheel and it never even had an oil changed in the 70K i did in it, it broke down once, and it was spark plugs, AA man put some in and it went again, i just kept topping oil up in it once every 2 months and a bit of water.

How bads that

turbo technics xr3i (series 1 rs turbo replica) was a shed, rusty, dodgy numbers.. went really well though.

Funny enough, a Maestro LOL Was Red and ROTTON! Bought it to trash and we did. Went halfs with a mates, £25 each I drove it all day and night until it died...

Clutch went, Starter motor, Window got popped, Got pissed in, Shat in,
Bonnet damaged, Drivers side damaged from a slight accident....

Reason, Why we shouldn't of had it, It caused us trouble with tax when we scrapped it, But we got it sorted.

No pictures

Thats not all of the story though is it radders?

Like reversing it into a tree leaving the blokes house when you bought it.

Then ringing Danny at silly O'Clock because you had crashed it into a ditch 'Danny come and get is we are stuck in a ditch...................... oh fuck theres water coming in!!!!'.

Then smashing the car up for no reason and people thinking you were doing it to some random car so they called the police.

Think that covers alot of it mate.
