Just benn to Tesco to buy my cigs and the price of 20 have gone up buy a quid to £6. Couldnt belive it so i chucked my lighter in the bin and bought a packet of chewing gum instead wish me luck

fags, beer and petrol - thats where they'll be re-couping the 2.5% VAT discount - Smokers, Drinkers and Drivers ALWAYS FUCKING ALWAYS get hit in the pocket.

But they made it sound like we were all getting a food deal last week by taking VAT down to 15% so it saves you about 20 quid on a new TV and f all for anything that you really need.

 

True, I don't see the point of dropping VAT, it is costing the Government an arm and a leg, yet its obvious it won't make much of a difference. Shops are doing 25% off bonanza's all over the place, the 2.5% compared to the sales seems a bit pish. Yet long term we will all have to pay a lot for it.

it is madness tho, with everyone cutting on fuel useage cutting smoking, no longer going to pubs its ruining the country, cant we just do a time warp to 7 yers ago and do a reset button

 

I used to smoke up to 40 per day, stopped 4 years ago and the money payed for the car in my sig.

Seeing what i could actually purchase with my money became a greater need than smoking.

 

They got the price wrong.
Vat reduced to 15%, but ad velorum tax went from 22% to 24%, hence cigs should only rise by 1p, not £1

puting it off until another day usually means you havent really got the will or inclination to stop.there will always be another excuse to put it off again. dont wait until they run out, stop now and stick them away in the cupboard . then its down to your will power.

 

£6 for 20 fags?! LOL!! I smoke roll ups, 50g packs of GV that last around 2 weeks for £6 each!! Still a filthy habit but at least its cheap!
