im in the trade i do repair salvage etc, but ive decided to buy a 51 plate golf gti turbo from a mate for the wife as shes got a newish laguna diesel and she wants somin sporty, so thought fook it ill buy her thats its 2k so not massive money but it is a v clean car
it was a cat c year or so back vic inspected on logbook
question is say if it gets nicked wrote off what they like on payouts? really try it on reducing the amount or if you argue the toss saying didnt have a clue owned it in good faith etc they payout book price ok?

heard u get so many times the scrap value at the moment but dont know if theres any truth in it
but sayin that a sold someone a xr3i with a rs turbo coversion recently for £500 with mot and tax etc and it got stolen then found and they offered him peanuts for it think it was bout £100 or the car back , he took the car back

Harsh if you only get 40% of the bottom book, because realistically there only 25% cheaper most of the time to buy, is it myth that insuring a cat c/d is cheaper?
