well, not as it would first appear it seems, but i'm sure there is a ceredit crunch tale buried in here somewhere
i do all the fleet stuff for my depot, from accidents to windscreen wipers to servicing to bodywork and everything inbetween, that's my domain and, until recently, there was a garage aroudn the corner who used to do all the normal work, ford who used to do the warranty work, and kwik fit who did the tyres
ford, of course, i didn't get anything out of for free, nor would i have looked for it, so no loss there
the garage around the corner couldn't agree terms on the lease so that was mechanical and bodywork place up the wall (but no great loss there either as when they got taken over last year everything i used to get done stopped getting done and it was all "at mates rates" rather than "you've put so much business our way i'll do it at a quiet time")
but now, the manager at kwik fit has gone, so my oil changes, my filters, my tyre deals, etc have all gone with him, replaced with "surname sir? vehicle reg sir, initial sir? that'll be £27.50 sir"
that'll teach me for not going to the end of my road and getting it done for a tenner
oh well, it was good while it lasted eh
on the plus side, i didn't have to pay to park near woolworths, but i should have saved my time and shoe leather as it had more people that product inside

head office gets thigns like wipers, bulbs, etc bulk from halfords, which is why i've got a trade card
unfortuantly though my hands are tied because of the ammount of contorl head office have over the vehicle side of things, the other day they said it was easier paperworkwise to get a wing mirror glass from ford for £45 than for me to get one for £15 and put it thorugh expenses, how that makes sense is beyond me

I say count yourself lucky - I don't any bonus at all... I'd be happy with a cheque from my company for a simple WEEK's earnings as bonus - fuck it, if they even paid me an extra DAYs rate it'd still be a bonus!

well, i had some serious problems with that, but more on that later, when i can find the camera lead
to be honest mate, it was a surprise that it was as much as it was, but it put me close to the £50k pa mark which sort of fucked me up for everything else, i know people will say that i'm just being silly, but when you have to spend the thick end of £600 a month on childcare and the tax man means that you only see £5430 of the £8k you were given, it sort of takes the excitement out of it all
aren't you given a bonus after you pass a certain amount of work? it would be good to icentivise the staff to work harder to earn a bit more money, rather than justgive them the same regardless? 30% of our bonus is individual effrot and the rest is how the compnay does, so everyones bonus is different, 2 years ago we got jack but no one was expecting it
look out for the tree post benni
I just remember a thread from you stating you got a bonus to equal your yearly salary.....
