Fifth Injectors
Hi all, I have recently brought an escort cabriolet for the 1.8zetec Turbo engine that was in it, Upon taking the loom out i realised the positive and negative wire on the fifth injector were joined and connected to the black box on the rear of the ignition barrel. Instead of taking it off the engine completely ide like to know the proper way to fit and wire a fifth injector?? Any1 got any instructions??

Mine was wired like that when I bought the car. It basically just pours fuel into the engine from the moment you turn the key. Not good.
You need to buy an ERL MF2 kit. Its a micro ecu that is mappable to supply fuel at a certain point. Say when the car leaches 3,200 RPM etc.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!

A few years ago i made my own by putting an oil pressure light switch in the cross over pipe(switched a 15 psi) and wired it to a relay and then to the 5th injector so at 15psi the 5th injector would open. not ideal but it worked and cost me under a tenna and took about 20 mins to do.

if you done it like this what voltage injector do you use, is it just wired 12v from an ignition live to relay then onto a injector ?
