Default st escos daft questions

i phoned ford today to order a st head gasket for my saph
the guy was completely useless, couldn't find it unless i gave him a reg plate or chassis number, or obviously part number,
does anybody know the part no or a reg plate i could use?
honest i'm not up to anything shady
also is the timing belt the same as a larget turbo?
just so i dont need to confuse the guy with 2 differant reg no's
thanks guys

I'll fire up the laptop now (microcat doesn't work on Vista) I'll find you a part number, unless someone else is faster

FINIS 5017402

But that part is up to 1993, even though its showing it on the small turbo head diagram..... So it may not ne the correct part.

Timing belts are the same.

Yeah, what a tosser that without ANY details of the car he couldn't ACCURATELY give you a part number. I'm so amazed Ford don't employ psychic Parts staff these days. What are they thinking!

i phone parts depts every day and the other 99% of parts guys can look things up
its just the useless lazy cunts that cant
its the differance between somebody thays good at their job and a cock
dont know you so i wont start on your ignorance but i bet 100% of the mechanics on here know where i'm coming from here
and i gave him all the details except the vehicle i.d so if he was anywhere near competent he would have got it

The first thing they ask for in EVERY dealerhisp Ive worked for is "Got a chassis number" Yes, stuff thats common they can do off the top of their head. But anything thats a little unusual they want a Chassis.

Why didnt you think ahead and take it with you?

i pissed the guys off at ford today, gave them a list of every single nut bolt washer for everything to do with the rear beam and asked for each price and availability and whats discontinued lol, will be going down next week to order them though theres 3 bolts that they dont do anymore

they can be handy sometimes over the phone, but even in person, i gave them my reg for the escort as i wanted a bulkhead bush for tomorrow, and they couldnt find it, they kept bringing std mk5 stuff up, in the end i asked for one for a sierra

An observation I have made on this thread is that Paul RS has obtained a Finis No without a reg no by simply selecting the relevant items in the drop down menu for either Sierra or Escos on microcat Alhough he has stated that it may not be the correct part. but it was certainly more helpful than the guy in Ford.
When I had a copy of microcat, I would look up the part no's before going to Ford to order anything up.

Nope, Small Turbo escos has reinforcement around certain areas IIRC and is comparable by some people to the grp A gasket.

So basically the best std ford gasket for yb.

i got sick to death of numpties in ford garages so always as on here for finis codes first if i have to go there.
now i usually just call matt lewis who is normally cheaper than ford anyway and they usually arrive quicker than ford can get them in lol
