Default Different RS Turbo Gearsets?

Does anyone how what different gearsets there are for the Rs Turbo BC Boxes?

Mines at CTS having an end casing swap for my ARB and the very helpful chap phoned me and said its got a close ratio gearset in it?

I didn't know there was one?

He said he would happily swap it for a standard gearset as they are hard to come across and useful for 1/4 mile boxes to them, and would probably annoy me as it will be loud (semi straight cut maybe?) and have no pull at top speeds, but apart form that didn't tell me much more.

Does anyone know any more about them?

Cheers. I'm just not quite sure what in there. He said ,Have you used the box and I said no and he said well the gears in it are close ratio gears which are good for acceleration in a track car, but usless for a road car as they top out quickly and are noisey, epecially on motorways. Do you want us to take them in exchange and they are useful for us to have an dont come up often and we'll swap them for a set of standard gears which will be better suited for road use, but i said no I'll keep whats in there.
Just seemed abit strange that they wanted them, but it was nice of them to tell me.
I origionally took the gearbox in a swap for my old stage 3 Zetec engine plus cash my way and the bloke did say the box had an uprated Quafie Diff, which CTS have told me is actualy just a new ford standard diff and it has been rebuilt so maybe its quaife gears and the bloke who sold it me had his wires crossed?

There were three different RST gearboxes available. They all had the same gearsets, the only differences:

S1: Final drive of 4.27
S2: Final dive of 3.82, two different gearboxes because of the modified gear lever linkage in ~86

Easiest way to get a very short B5 gearbox:

Use the gear ratios of a GFJ 16V (not sure about the XR2i 16V and the RS1800 that were sold in UK, here in Germany they had a 3.82 axle and short gear ratios, that made them nearly as short as a S1 box) and the final drive of a S1. That's the shortes combination you can get out of Ford standard parts. The RS1600i had the same ratios like the XR3/RST S2 with different 5th gears...
