fuel pump question?

fuel pump question?
My car just randomly died earlier, and my fuel pump does make any noise any ideas? its on a fiesta rs turbo.

Just had the same problem with my series 2, bridge the "Fuel Pump Relay" and turn on the ignition, If the pump buzzes then its not your fuel pump but more likely your Fuel Pump Relay". (wouldn't go driving about with it bridged though) Relays are about £30 from Ford - ive seen some on ebay go for over £50 though!!!!!

nah the fuel pump doesnt buzz, any idea which relay it is?

i think if i remember rightly the relay is in pasenger footwell on the left behind the plastic. it should click when you turn the ignition i believe? if pump has gone i have an escort cossie one for sale if needed?

right went 2 have a look and the fuel pump worked then after awhile it died again and now it wont work.

yea i traced the wire from under the seat but looked ok but knowin this car its a wire

try changing the relay mate, most likely that, i believe they normally go when the fuel pump is on the way out

do u know which one it is cos i think its been bridge cos theres wires cumin out of and it looks like its melted

i honestly couldnt say mate, didnt have one when i sold the shell due to the theft
. the pesron i sold the shell wired the relay up i believe? try a manual?

right so if the relay is knackered then when it gets hot will it stop working?

when the pump is on its way out is sometimes blows relays as a safety

just remove the relay power it up and see if it clicks, if it is the relay and the cause was the pump being on its way out it will soon happen again though
