Default big up to totd

for the past 14 months i've had this rattle coming from the suspension of the mondeo and, having changed virtualy everything, sometimes twice in the case of the bottom ball joints and wishbones and arb drop links, it started to get a bit much

i even changed the springs and the top mounts but still this shonky rattle existed

as per mypost a few weeks ago regarding a decent garage, torque of the devil was the right place at the right time so in it went

and 5 minutes later kester's popped into the cafe and said he's found the problem

it turned out to the the steering rack

so, rack ordered from ebay i left it to them

ok, so the rack took a week to turn up, but when i got the car back, no rattle

the thing i've found since i collected the car though has been two fold

one, it's so nice not to hear the rattle
two, the brakes are just unreal

so big up to the lads there for sorting the problem, and i've got some bushes on the way too

dropped it off on the saturday morning and then, for the best part of the next week, they were waiting for the rack to turn up

no problems i leaving it there either as i was worried about it cluttering up teh place, but no, no problems

if i had taken it to a garage in the first place to diagnose the fault i probably would have saved myself the £400 odd i've spent trying to rectifiy the problem so ther is a lesson to be learnt there, sometiems it IS cheaper for the professionsal to have a look

the 2 "bad tales" that i'm sure everyone will remember are the one where someone used the totd computer to slag off power engineering and radders datsun's woes

other than that, i have no idea

well its quite funny actually.

last year around this sort of time i wanted my car tuned but only knew of PE so i rang them up and told them i had an s2 escort and the geezer actually said to me TO BE HONEST I KNOW A LITTLE BIT BUT NOT BRILLIANT ON THE S2 TURBOS and he said to me I KNOW SOMEONE CALLED "chris todd from a place called torque of the devil" and he gave me he's number.

and i went there and came out smiling
