need help fast, RS2000
Right people,
I've put a Induction kit onto my mates RS2000 and taped up the secor, started the car and ran fine, drove it to my mates and was fine, gone out and now it wont turn over, the car wants to try start but nothing, So i've removed the induction kit and replace the old air box and put the secor back where its ment to be, whats gone wrong?
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLP! ME

whats a secor ??
i had probs with one of my mk5 rs2000's, it was the wire going into the fuel tank, it would stop buzzing and a wiggle of the wires under the back seat would get it going

all i changed was the air box to an induction
check the wires to the coil packs mine done it.. i drive home fine went to start nxt mornin an nothin! there a common problem the signals get interupted an the coil dnt know if there cumin or goin. but u shouldnt have to tape a sensor up to put induction kit on coz thats the idle speed control valve thats bolted to side of air box! only sensor i touched doin mine! but check wires to coils coz the slevein breaks down an they touch!

Because if it starts, it might have just been your engine throwing a bit of a tantrum cos it didn't like the induction kit
If there is a serious problem fuel or spark related then it will not start AT ALL. At least if you try to bump start it and it starts then it might have just been nothing. If it doesn't start then at least you know you've got issues.

now my next question.
Could i just remove the old panel filter and put the induction inside the air box? so then im not removing the sensor or even the air pipes?...

See, bump starting it worked! It just didn't like you because you put an induction kit on it
First things first, what induction kit do you have?
And does the engine you have have a MAF sensor?

bumping works silly me

And yes it has a MAF Sensor on the side of the air box
engine is a 2.0 RS2000 16v MFI
Ah right, looks like a universal jobby.
Can I see a pic of your engine bay please? In particular the air intake setup. You must make sure the MAF is sealed tight and proper when fitting. This is key. The engine may also take a little time to adjust as well to the new MAF readings.

will get some picture shoots tomorow as its not my car,
Hes gone and brought a nuther one with a MAF sensor fitting with it. so ganna try that, not ganna bother with that one now ganna try the other one, i might try fitting that to my MFI rs turbo IF it fits

that MAF sensor must be connected but with them disconnected they just idel lumpy should effect start
put the filter after the maf it is it like the zetec way? the sensor is on an alloy housing? or its in the air box
best off goin on rs200016v site

you need the right one for the car because on the air box is a silver valve the HAS to be connected when you buy the right one for the car you get a special plate that you bolt it to.an connect vaccum pipes to from the base that the air filter sits on. on this base theres 2 outlets one for that silver valve an the other for the oil beather on the cam cover. if you need pics let me know an i'll get em for you.
