Default Fuel computer on right

I been investigating why the fuel consumption computer doesnt work and found that the connection on the back wasn't connected.. I had a look around and saw that it isnt there at all... i had a really good look. I saw an old laserline immobiliser box in there and at first glance thought that they had the same connections but it defo aint...

Has anyone had this problem or any ideas where the bastard could be? Where shall i trace the wires back from?

You will probably find that it is not fitted in the first place. What year is it?

If you need a plug, the plug from a MK3 Granada one fits the same.

The wiring is the easy bit, you need the fuel flow sensor for the MKi setup (which bolts on the side of the metering head).

You may be lucky and yours may already have it, or you may be able to pick it up from the fuel ECU, but am not sure on that TBH.

If it was a late EFI-one, you would just go straight to the main ECU for the connections.

Connections (if you get that far though) should be:

1/ Red - +12V
2/ Grey/Green - illumination
3/ Brown/Red - fuel tank sender (separate wire to the fuel gauge where it goes onto the tank)
4/ not used
5/ Brown - Earth
6/ Brown/White - Speed sensor (on gearbox underneath speedo cable)
7/ Brown/Green - Fuel flow sensor
8/ Brown - Earth (connected if MFi, disconnected if EFi)
9/ Black/Yellow - ignition +12V feed

On EFi models

Same as MFi, except pin 7 goes to pin 17 on the ECU

This is all going from memory though
