Default just had a thought!!!!

Yes amazing i knowbut i am bored at work!

just brought a complete 4x4 inlet plenuim(off dan@rapidfords top bloke!) with everything i need to swap it on to my 2wd even got the o.e fuel pipes uncut!which my 2wd has not

But will the pipes off the 4x4 rail/regulator reach/fit the original 2wd pipes coming from underneath the car?

And how do i get the pipes off from the one coming from the pump and the return one?i could just cut them i know but would like to knowe how you remove them!Or is there a special tool?

Theres a special tool to remove them, but you could try warming them up with a heat gun an prising them off.The easiest way is to cut them.Did you get the rail and regulator ? as these are different.I done it to mine and the pipes were plenty long enough. If not its just a case of pulling the rubber pipe off the metal pipes that run under the car and replacing with a longer one.

yes mate got everything regulator, rail etc!still has the o.e high pressure pipes connected to the rail/regulator the pipes are in perfect condition just hoping they will reach my metal pipes that go under the car!

so you need a special tool to remove these pipes then?(where they connect to the metal pipes?how would you get the pipes off the fuel rail as they look like they are heat shirked on?or does the special tool do this part as well?

the incoming fuel line onto the rail had me baffled me for ages - ideally you need air con tool - these below

You can if you're careful spring them open with a thin bit of metal wrapped around the pipe and slid up; its a sping lock clip - fiddly buggers

cheers for the replies chaps!i have got some of them air con tools at work!think i might buy the tool tho !as i will have to take to pipe off at some stage!

will the pipes from the 4x4 rail reach and fit ok to the metal pipes?as i do not know if the o.e 2wd pipes are routed different?also i presume to check the fuel pressure you simply undo the regulator and put you gauge in the same way as you would a 2wd one(inbetween regulator, rail!)
