Default some help please

my sisters FRST has started smoking badly on over run and iam putting it down to piston rings and maby needing rebore as i hav put new turbo and oil seals on and hav been offered good low mile s2 engine for it.............now what id like to know is can i use the s2 block bottom end and stick with the efi head?is it a straight swap bolt on job etc or are there differances with the block?any info would be greatly appreciated

You will need to have a hole machined into the block for the cranshaft sensor. Everything else is the same I think. Do a compression test to check the condition of the bottom end before you spend your cash.
