Gen Ford or Cometic if you have the funds.

Felpro = Poo, the fire ring is way to big for a 1600CVH, they are too close to eachother and are prone to blowing accross one another. Had a bad experiance with a Payen, lasted less than 1 mile as the fire ring on No. was faulty Emtied the entire contents of my water system into the bore.....Oh Joy!!!

I thought the Ford HG's were made by Payen? I'm probably wrong though.

Yes, we need a sticky thread about the fact that standard head gasket/bolts is best for 99% of people on here and that you will struggle to hold a cam together and that the best bet is a Newman one with solid lifters!

Oh and that the best Intercooler is GRS! PMSL.

Or perhaps we can enter the Guiness Book of Records for the largest amount of threads about the same subject! LOL.

The biggest piece of advice I can give you is not to assume that the expensive parts are the best parts.

Good luck with your RST!

I'll always help if you need advice, even if I do sound like I'm taking the piss!! LOL.

glad you said it as well lol
use the search function as there are some very useful topics that cover most common issues/upgrade of common rst parts.
a wealth of info and plenty you can learn on here if you look enough.
as far as worrying about the head gasket compared with your nova- do it right and you'll only do it once at moderate power levels
don't forget a skim of the head just to be sure as well.
