The Focus RS has an AUTO air con feature. If you have noticed on the heater controls some of the icons are orange. These indicate Auto aircon, If you have it set to blow on windscreen you have the air conditioning on. Try setting it half way between so it isnt fully on wind screen and the fans will go off. And fuel consumption will improve.
wtf!
so if you have the heater direction set to the orange windscreen pic then it uses the aircon?!
i've noticed that 3 on the fan control has windscreen next to it and its orange too. Does this use the aircon as well?
I ALWAYS have my heater direction to windscreen in other cars. Just got the frs on sat. I'll stop that if its the case!

Yes & yes - i believe the reason for it though is that its designed to be a "quick clear" setup for the windscreen - very useful at times & yet also annoying at others

i went on to the rsbb and the FRS section there is very good and i found the info. It also tells you how to remove this

i bought the car on sat and thought the gauge was dropping nice and slow. Between yest and today driving to work in early morning cold conditions with the fan set to windscreen the gauge had dropped quicker. Guess this hasn't helped!
