We use a baseball bat over here, just stick it between the wheel and the fender (wing) and get someone to drive the car forward slowly letting the bat slip through your hands. Perfect every time, takes minutes.

I tried everything on my Sapph recently including the baseball bat method. Beware, you will fuck up your bodywork! I have cracked paint and folded inside lips on my arches. Get a professional. And even then be prepared for cracked paint.

Yes my front arches look like shit, rolled to the max and some, still catches. 215/40/17 with Yokohama Paradas which I think are the problem. Offset 35 so that's supposed to be right for a Saff.

I think shell rigidity plays a factor. My Saff has a lot of miles on it, think it'd benefit from strut brace/s. It's only the front that rub, the rear have always been fine.

We use the handle end of the baseball bat first as it is thinner and then gradually move the bat in over a few go's, We don't crack paint but then again we are professional

You've done this on a Sapphire?

Cos when I tried the pull at the front caused the back to pull in and vice versa - back and forth just caused cracked paint and almost no arch stretch, also the lip folded in and creased. My car is very low and now my arches are very screwed. It's OK though.

I used this for rolling the arches:

If you roll the lip very slow and heat it up a bit the paint also doesnt crack.

moorland classics its not mate but worth getting it done propley, they rolled the arches the paint nearly always splits so painted and also modded inner arches so they still fit propley, had no problems. the wheels are mm off the konis but dont catch
