hi guys my brother is the proud new owner of a 2004 plate focus st170 and he is looking into ways of extracting a few more ponies out of it. i was browsing through pipers website and come across the ultimate road cam they do for the 170 has anybody on here had one of these fitted and if so were the results any good ?

 

You have to reshim the valve to bucket clearance as there solid buckets, not a straight forward job

Try cat cams, they can supply billet cams to any spec, Piper can only regrind standard cams meaning a full reshim up afterwards.

I use Cat Cams in mine, a friend used Piper for a regrind on his OE cams with his Nasp ST motor and wasn't impressed, the duration they quoted was way out and not enough for his spec, still made 280bhp with ITB's

you can get a camprofile regrind on standard cams for Ł220 off kent or might be piper.. Dont think you need any head work for it but dont hold me to that.

right thanks mate just had a drive of the st and i must say what a cracking engine really effortless to drive. i think my bro is going to get the car chipped at gt motorsport in stoke and add a k&n panel filter that should add a few more ponies lol
