Default Heater Matrix

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me out my mate's rs turbo needs a heater matrix he gave ford a ring and they said it will cost £94 which I think is a bit too expensive does anyone know where to get one cheaper?

think ya can get them from most auto shops that sell radiators etc,think a got quoted bout £45 shud just bypass it in engine bay till he gets it sorted just join the pipes together for a temporary fix

I wouldn't touch one from the scrappy, may be worse than the one you take out!

My Valeo one cost about £50.

as above dont bother with a scrappy one, is it damaged or just blocked? if blocked the first thing to do is remove your matrix and check the outside condition, ie the fins are all ok and there is no major damage and its not leaking

then more than likely its just got blocked up so then pour a load of vinagar into it until the vinagar starts to come out the other inlet, leave over night for it to break down the blockage then run water through it for 5 mins to clean all the broken down crap out, my plumber recommended this to me as this is how he cleans boiler filters
