Hi Guys,

I have a yamaha r6 2003, there is a raised blobby shaped sticker that goes across the fuel tank. Does anyone know what its used for?? i'm guessing its to stop the tank being scratched?

Sounds like it's for a tank-bag to sit on without scratching the paint.

 

where abouts on the tank is it? photo would be helpful.

if it's where your nuts nestle, it's to stop zips and things scratching the tank. if it's down the sides where your inner thighs go it's 'stomp grip' supposedly to provide better grip and control.

if it's all over, as said it's probably to stop a magnetic tank bag scratching it - i fit a baglux tank cover instead
