NATS is a Air Traffic Control thing responsible for all aircraft flying through UK airspace. It's obviously some kind of radar.

right ok then so it's something to do with air traffic control, but what exactly?
i mean it's up a lane in the middle of no-where, that you need a land rover to access. theres only about 3 house in 4 square miles of it and no airport for 30 miles plus.
i'm fairly sure theres no-one working there or nothing as the doors/windows are all chequer plate and the entrance posts all have very rusted padlocks.
so whats it actually used for?

Looks like an Aerial, probably to pick up the Identity transponders that all large planes have on board.
It might not look secure but if it's as above, it's very important in the identification and location of aircraft, I'd guess that someone has a few photos of you taking photos of their property.

as for the other pics, i have no idea really!
but without a lock on the gates, and the elec thingy gone already there's probably not much left inside.
Would be cool to take a look though
the bit with the gates not locked is about 100yards down the lane, i suspect it's something kinda important which puzzles me why it's not more secure, i mean i've parked right outside it ffs!
