Default Amal valve disconnected?

i dont know a huge deal about these or how they work but my S2 is missing its amal valve, the wiring is there for it though. My mate pointed it out the other night. i've got a spare one from an S2 i broke, question is, what does it do and do i need it?

At the moment, my car has a fulll stainless, cone filter, dump valve and radtec front mount cooler - my next step was a -31 actuator and a chip. just wondered where the amal valve comes into all this?

Does your car have a bleed valve or other boost control device fitted?

Usually, the Amal Valve is removed and replaced with another method of controlling boost. Alternatively, the Actuator may just be piped directly to the boost source.

no bleed valve or anything else to control boost - was told the actuator is just piped to the boost source - is this bad for the car? I'm havin a bit of trouble with boost you see!

IMO they're better than bleed valves and the direct piping, as it allows the ECU to wind the boost off if it needs to, and can bring it in as hard as the chip's programmed to.

strictly speaking you don't need one for the car to run.

i don't have one i have a bleed valve that my tuner fitted when they set the car up

up to u at the end of the day if u have a car that's running fine i wouldn't fit it
